Details There are lots and lots of copy or clone R4i on the market. And unfortunately the old adage about getting what you pay for come into play here completely.

At ModChipStore.com we pride ourselves on doing away with the fake flash cards.  And we're pleased to let our customers know that our R4i SDHC cards are working with the latest V1.4 update for the Nintendo DSi.  Fake cards are like throwing money down the drain.  While we could offer them at a lower price, they simply would not perform or work the way they are meant to work.  Often times not getting proper firmware upgrades (which means they simply won't work on newer games and homebrew applications due to lack of support) And when there is a major update for the Nintendo DSi - they also won't be able to support it.  Our caution has paid off.   You'll see many R4i units on the market, with only 2 of them being real and official.  And those two are the ONLY R4i we carry at ModChipStore.com - and for good reason. 

With the new 1.4 Update for the Nintendo DSi console, a lot of R4i SDHC Card owners have been left out in the cold.  Not because of a bad decision on their part, but because they bought some cheaply made R4i MEGA or R4i SOMETHING that did initially work on their NDSi.  What is important to remember with the NDSi is that, much like the Wii (and 360 and PS3) it will be updated via firmware on a regular basis to add new features and functions to this powerful hand held console.  Most of these clone card makers simply can't keep up.  They don't have the technical know-how to make their own updates and in many cases they simply continue to product the cards without letting customers know that if there should be an update - they are out of luck.
