Creating a PS2 DVD-R backup with a Pioneer A03 drive and Prassi PrimoDVD

Creating a PS2 DVD-R backup with a Pioneer A03 drive and Prassi PrimoDVD

1. To begin, insert the source DVD disc is in the Pioneer DVR-AO3 tray and open PrimoDVD.  If the PrimoDVD starter screen appears click on the 'Go To Full Application' button found at the bottom of the starter screen.  Note: You are going to require at least 5GB of free disc space for PrimoDVD to create the temporary image file of the source disc.

2. Click on 'Tools' then 'Drive Tuning' in the PrimoDVD menubar to view the current settings of your DVD-ROM and DVD-RW drives.  You want to ensure that the auto-insert notification feature is switched off on both of these drives.  If necessary, switch off auto-insert notification for both dives and choose to reboot your system.  These setting changes are necessary to stop unwanted DVD-R (destination) access by Windows during the burn process.

3. Click on the 'PrimoDVD Starter' button along the toolbar to launch the starter screen.  Once the starter screen appears click on the 'Disk Copy' button.

4. Select the source and destination drives, it is recommended that you use the same drive as both the source and destination for more reliable performance.  Ensure that the 'Make temporary image' box is checked or grayed out.

5. Now you are ready to begin creating the image and burning that image to DVD-R media, simply click on the 'Record' button to begin the automated process.
